Kenneth L Owens Sr. was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 22, 1950 to the late Albert Spencer Oliver and Minnie E. Swindell. He grew up in Youngstown, Columbus and Cincinnati Ohio before attending Boys town boys home in Nebraska where he received his high school Diploma in 1969. Kenny enlisted into the United States Army and served from 1971 to 1973 where he received an honorable discharge. Kenny was a hardworking family man he cherished being a loving father to his children. He worked various jobs in Ohio until his Aunt Helen brought him to Buffalo, New York in 1974 where he was hired at Dupont Yerkees Plant .He worked for the next 30 plus years as forklift operator on swing shift retiring in 2008. Amongst many things Kenny loved sports. Especially football which he and son Kenny Jr enjoyed together. He coached Buffalo Vets little league for 20 plus years dedicating his time, passion and knowledge to the inner-City Kids. He also had a great passion and love for music, cars, and of course other sports like baseball where he played for Dupont plant and won trophies and accolades for his endurance and great team spirit! He also enjoyed playing the electric guitar. He would often joke about becoming the next Jimi Hendrix (classic). Kenny L. Owens was preceded in death by wife Brenda Marie Owens and the late Leora Heard Owens. He leaves to cherish his memory three brothers, the late Edgar (Butch)Owens, Derrick Owens, Harold Owens, his daughter Tanya , his son Kenny Jr, 1step-daughter Nearie, grandchildren Ilan, Tyiane, Baby Kendal, Kenny III, Tevaeh, Kavon, Kennedi, Kenya, his step-grandchildren Keyan, Ashley, Ave'yah, Nito and a host of other step-grands, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
