Q: What will you miss most about Lucille?
A: Gal, what can I say? So many memories of you and yours sisters. You all loved to dance together. I enjoyed watching you all get up and dance in your sister circle together and sometimes my dad would be in the middle of you all. It was a sight to see. Even though we can't see you in the flesh I believe the ones that left are still dancing with us all. You made it Gal! We.have more yesterday's than tomorrow's so one day I hope we'll make it too and you'll be waiting for us.

Mommie there will never be another you, there will never be another us. I keep finding myself wanting to text you to make you laugh. I will miss your collard greens. I will miss you squeezing my cheeks to make sure they were still soft. I will miss your stories about you growing up. I will miss seeing you trying to rap the words to how do you want it, and don't get me started on those greyhound bus trips, but most of all I will miss you. I love you mommie.

Gail oh Gail ! How I’m going to miss you . When my aunt Pearl posted about this party you were so excited. I mean every post she made you commented under saying how exited you were, and you were going to dance all night. Then when we got there you didn’t dance, but you smiled and moved your hips in your chair to the music so I know you had a good time. I remember you crying towards the end of the party when my aunt pearls family got together during the ojays family reunion song. I remember rubbing your back telling you it’s okay our family will get it together. I’m glad you got to see that before you passed, we had the time of our life and I know that warmed your heart.

Q: What will you never forget about Lucille?
A: I could & will never forget You. My Grammie. I could never forget the love that all of us, as your grandchildren, were blessed to share. You have played a major role in our lives & I am forever grateful for you, Grammie. I’m gonna miss hearing Zuri talking & laughing with you. I’m so happy she knows you. I’m thankful for these 30 years of memories though they hurt so bad right now. I love you & I miss you.. thank you for not letting my mom do it all on her own ♥️ I love you forever Grammie

Some Shine so bright that after they are gone, their light remains. You welcomed me with open arms Lucille and loved me like your own, and I’ll never forget you. I hope to be a fraction of the woman you were someday. The epitome of unconditional love, continue to shine your light on us. I love you always ❤️ your daughter in law

It’s the friends we meet along the way that makes us appreciate the journey. I just want to say Ms. Lucille was more than a friend she was like part of the family. Her and my mother (Bettie) were like sisters. Ms. Lucille will truly be missed.

I’m going to miss your beautiful smile, and calling you to talk about The Young And The Restless and the phony Bold And The Beautiful. Most of all happy hour in Tawan’s garage listening to Willie Clayton and the blues singers. I’m Missing you sis.

My favorite memory with grammy would be sitting outside with her and eating buttered toast. One day after school grammy made me buttered toast and she made herself coffee. We pulled the dining room chairs in the backyard and sat outside in the very small “backyard” that smelled like grass and had lots of bugs crawling around. I didn’t really think of the negatives at the time because I was with her. I ate the toast and she drunk her coffee and we probably talked about nothing. I was just happy to be with my grandmother like I always was, wherever she was I always wanted to be.

Q: What will you miss most about Lucille?
A: I don’t even know where to begin we have so much memories. Well I first want to thank you for always being my gram no matter what. You came into my life early on and I can only think of good things from that moment on. I’m going to miss hanging out with you in the living room while you talked junk and sipped your Budweiser. You always kept me laughing but what I loved most was you always had great advice and good encouraging words. Gram, you will always have a special place in my heart. I love you sooooooo much your name will forever live on! FLY HIGH pretty lady and sleep peacefully.
-Love Hayden ❤️
