Obituary of Eric Jamaal Smith

Eric Jamal Smith was born November 18, 1998 in Rochester, NY to doting parents Victor and Linda Smith. Eric attended Nathaniel Hawthorne 25 school for elementary , while in elementary school Eric played football for the irondeqouit Screaming Eagles. Eric then attended Monroe middle and High School where he was an active Center for Youth participant. Eric played snare drum for the Mighty Liberators Drum Core and participated in various parades and community events in Rochester NY. Eric Graduated Monroe High School in 2016. After high school Eric received a certification certificate in electrical safety from OSHA. Eric worked various jobs in Rochester, but landscaping was his passion and specialty As a child Eric has loved going to Uncle Jermaines house, playing basketball and bologna sandwiches. Since childhood Eric has loved movies and television with high musical influence. His favorite was Friday which he pronounced as a child "FREG AND DAYDAY". Music played a major part in Eric's life especially growing up in a household where music is always being played, sung or quoted. The first freestyle Eric ever did was " Blue Clues Look At Your Shoes". As a young adult Eric spent a lot of time in the studio with his friends creating hit after hit. Eric would always come home and say "THIS THE ONE". Eric also loved being his Daddy's son which meant debating EVERYTHING on a daily basis and calling his dad "Google Man". But nonetheless Eric LOVED his family and made sure to say it all the time. Sadly on July 23, 2023 Eric was called home. Eric is survived by his Parents Victor and Linda Smith, two older sisters Shyauna Smith and Victoria Smith. A niece Christiana and two nephews James and Carter whom he loved to death. Eric leaves behind his grandmother Mrs. LaDean Carter, aunts, uncles, and slew of cousins. Eric also leaves behind a lot of friends that he truly truly loved and considered his brothers, sisters.
